Among the recipes I’ve refined over the years, my gingerbread is a favourite—not only for its delightful flavour but also for the cherished stories and memories it carries.
I focus on Celtic themes that celebrate Nova Scotia, but I also love creating cookie boxes for occasions year-round. Whether you prefer the robust, spicy notes of traditional gingerbread or the subtle sweetness of blonde gingerbread, I am committed to using the finest Canadian ingredients. For those who prefer, I offer organic and gluten-friendly options as well.

Do you offer gluten-free or gluten-friendly options?
On request we bake a gluten‑friendly version of the classic recipe. While the ingredients are gluten free, anyone with celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivity should be aware we work in a mixed kitchen. While we take every precaution to avoid cross‑contact, wheat flour is used daily. We cannot guarantee zero cross‑contamination for severe allergies.
Are the cookies vegan?
Each form of gingerbread contains egg. However, the shortbread cookies available in some special occasion boxes do not contain egg.
Where do you source your ingredients?
We buy organic ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves from a local vendor in the Halifax area. Supporting local growers and spice merchants keeps our flavors fresh and our footprint small. We use Canadian organic flour, eggs, molasses, and shortening with dedication to keeping it local wherever possible.
Are your gift boxes eco‑friendly?
Absolutely. Our stay fresh inner “cellophane” packaging is made from biodegradable plant cellulose, and all outer cartons are fully recyclable.
Can I order cookies with custom colours or designs?
Yes! Although “Celtic” is our primary theme, we tailor the designs to a variety of themes—holidays, birthdays, weddings, or corporate branding. Colours are generally only added to shortbread, or blonde gingerbread.
Do you handle corporate and wedding orders?
We do. Cookie boxes are wonderful holiday gifts for staff or clients. We are also happy to discuss custom orders for dessert‑table assortments for weddings and showers.
How far in advance should I place a large order?
For quantities over 50 cookies, please give us two weeks’ notice (more during December). Smaller orders (under 20 cookies) usually need 72 hours.
What are my pickup or delivery options?
You can collect your order at my next market, or you may choose local delivery within HRM for a small fee. Delivery elsewhere in Nova Scotia may be arranged based on size and timing of your order.
